I love the ridiculous posts on Miiverse — I wish I had the time to comb through all of the different communities to find gold like this. I could do without a lot of the aimless noise or this kind of Flipnote Hatena junk on the service, but stuff like random Aaliyah posts, the New Super Miiverse Bros. project, and the Funky Barn and Family Party shenanigans make it all worth wading through.
Anyway, if you follow us on Twitter, you would have seen I had a crisis several months ago trying to decide what to spend $2 of free Amazon music credit on. I spent days stressing over the issue before finally grabbing Aaliyah’s “One in a Million” and “4 Page Letter” because both tracks are the business. Thank you, Jamesmac, for preaching the truth and giving me an excuse to link those two songs.
Buy Wii U stuff, Aaliyah joints
I hope Miiverse is home to more hilarity like this, and I wish the same for the unofficial Miiverse Tumblr where I found these images. I’m kicking myself over not being the one to start this site.

For many, Wii U’s Miiverse features seem like yet another annoying attempt to shove social features where they don’t belong — a distraction from what should be important and what developers should focus on, gameplay.
Why do video games need a Twitter-style feed for posting messages? Why does it need to be injected into games, letting others invade your game with their comments? Why does Wii U need to follow this trend of making everything social? Why do we need Miiverse?
Because we don’t enjoy media in a vacuum anymore, and soon, we won’t enjoy games that way either.
