Who knew that Taito released a Famicom game based on The Secret World of Arrietty way back in 1986? How is that even possible, when the film just came out two years ago? Oh, right, it’s another mock-up from SimplyAwful.

“The story loosely follows the book and movie in that Arrietty must go through many trials before she can be a full fledged Borrower. This includes finding everyday items like sugar and herbs as well as battling (or escaping from) spiders, cats and, in one intense encounter, a bunch of stomping feet in a hallway!”

Four more fake Adventure Time games, complete with custom Famicom cartridge labels (click for larger images).

You can read descriptions for all the titles and see more photos at SimplyAwful’s blog dedicated to custom game labels. Oh, and make sure to check out the original batch of Adventure Time Famicom cartridges here, too.

Adventure Time games for Famicom! Or fake labels based on the cartoon and slapped on Famicom cartridges, Famicase style. This is a thing people do all the time now!

In fact, the site behind these mock-ups, SimplyAwful, is dedicated to making all sorts of custom labels for both real and fake games. There’s lots of hot stuff here.

Maybe someone will actually build a homebrew NES project based on these mock-ups at this weekend’s Adventure Time Game Jam (as detailed by the recently launched and Venus Patrol)? How math would that be?

The next Super Mario 3D Land could look like this, if Nintendo modeled it after the quirky second game in the original NES series. That’s unlikely, but if Super Mario Bros. 2 taught us anything, it’s that a fellow can dream!
This mock-up comes from @pokecapn, and is based on the clean version Bill Mudron illustrated without all the 3DS screen’s quirks (e.g. ghosting, lines, etc.)

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3DS XLs (click for larger images)! Both are mock-ups of couse, seeing as Nintendo has only teased that it’s considering porting the esteemed N64 game. These concepts, which I’m sure Zelda fans are eager to see made real, come to us from Nintendo Culture and Cameron Smith.

Alternate Chotto Mario 3DSes for Luigi, Princess Daisy, and a Poison mushroom — all mock-ups, yes, but it’s not like we’re getting the real ones in the U.S. anyway.
Nope, not gonna let it go. Crossing my arms and pouting right now. I don’t care if big boys don’t pout. I really don’t.
