Card Sagas Wars: Castlevania’s Soma vs Crono and the whole Chrono Trigger crew at times — the team attack at the 1:23 mark is pretty wild!
For those of you wondering when Ahruon and Orkimedes will get around to finally releasing a playable version of this fanmade, M.U.G.E.N.-powered PC project, the Spanish developers explain, “We do what we can when we want and without hurry, so we can only advise you to try to enjoy our development a bit more, even it it’s slow.”
So, yeah, you’ll just have to just settle for these clips we post every few months for now. If you want, you can hold a controller while the video runs and pretend you’re playing — you’ll be amazed by all the moves you can pull off!
Buy: Chrono Trigger DS ($14.99), Castlevania games

Ryu vs. Wu-Tang Killa Bees. Why isn’t there a Wu fighting game (one that isn’t Shaolin Style, that is)?
Yes, 15 seconds in, this video isn’t funny anymore, but I’ll find any excuse to bring up the Clan on here. Also, it gives me a chance to post this Wu-Tang joke I saw TheSimplicity tweet recently:
Q: How many Wu-Tang members does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: Just one. Their solo efforts are always quite competent.
Buy: Lots of Wu-Tang stuff to enrich your life

Link vs Cloud, from Card Sagas Wars.
I wish this was an action title, like Konjak’s Legend of Princess, instead of a fanservice fighting game with a hojillion playable characters. That way, we might actually see a playable release this decade!

Mugen Beer! The latest in Bandai’s line of toys that simulate unbelievably mundane tasks, the Mugen Beer allows you to open a can. Over and over again. Don’t you love opening cans? Yeah, I don’t know either. I kind of want to go open a can to see how it makes me feel.
Also available as Mugen Soda for the kids.

Etna vs. Crono, from Card Sagas Wars.
Ahruon and Orkimedes — the Spain-based duo behind the fanmade, M.U.G.E.N.-powered PC project — released this “test” clip two weeks ago. Says Ahruon, “Neither of them has AI, so they just [do] random stuff to each other.”
I have a feeling this game will never see a playable release.

Ronald McDonald beats the hell out of the Mario Bros. in MUGEN. I love watching these MUGEN videos, but I suspect I would enjoy playing the game a lot less.
This is probably the best opportunity I’ll ever get to link to some of these Ronald McDonald mashups from Masao. I’m not embedding the images because Eric said the Totoro ones were ruining Totoro for him. Be warned — these are all super creepy. Not like “hahahaha how weird” creepy, but like “why is this on the internet” creepy.

New Card Sagas Wars trailer.
I love Soma’s vacuum cleaner move at the beginning! Refer to our previous Card Sagas Wars post for more info on this fanmade, M.U.G.E.N.-powered PC project.

Etna vs. Soma! Master Chief vs. KOS-MOS!
This trailer is from way back in June, but I’ve never seen it, so it’s likely you haven’t either. Card Sagas Wars is a homemade PC project created with M.U.G.E.N, a 2D fighting game engine.
Using ripped backgrounds along with sprites that’ve been redrawn for a consistent look, the game is a fanboy’s dream, allowing for four-player brawls and implausible match-ups, like Samus vs. Crono.
Last I heard, 900+ playable characters were planned for Card Sagas Wars, but that roster might’ve been scaled back since then. Even if a few hundred fighters were cut, though, the character selection still puts Super Smash Bros. Brawl to shame.
No word yet on when we’ll see a playable release for this!
