Nendoroid Pokemon Trainer Red available for pre-order ⊟

J-List just posted pre-orders for the ostensibly Pokemon Center-exclusive Pokemon Trainer Nendoroid! I did a quick look around at other shops and didn’t see it yet.

So… you can get one, even though I thought nobody outside of Japan would be able to. That’s cool. There is a small issue, however, and that is the issue of a hundred fifteen dollars. I mean, the figure does come with little starter Pokemon and some cool accessories… but that’s a bit of a premium over the Japanese price. I’m assuming the stock is somewhat hard to come by.

More shots of the Trainer Red nendoroid ⊟

I’m not really into owning video game figures, and I’m not even that serious about ‘mons, but I’m seriously considering picking up this nendoroid when Good Smile releases it to Japan this September (priced at ¥4,500/$44).

Real talk, I’d be more excited if this showed up on my doorstep than I would be if someone sent me Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire.

Pokemon Trainer Red as a Nendoroid ⊟

Cute! … and exclusive to Pokemon Centers in Japan! So enjoy these pictures (via @zerochan and NintendoTweet), I guess. Red will release on September 27 for ¥4,500, or around $44.

I like how he has three different poses pictured, all of which involve holding a hand out. He’ll come with a few accessories (Pokedex, Poke Ball, and Master Ball), as well as three mons (Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle).

Nendoroid Link: The Wind Waker figure ⊟

It’s even more adorable than I expected! Releasing in Japan this August (priced at ¥3,704, or $36.47), this figure from Good Smile includes the sword, shield, heart container, several facial expressions, and more.

Thanks to Thomas P. for the tip!

Invite Nendoroid Monokuma into your home ⊟

Just in time for the Western release of Danganronpa, J-List is carrying the reissued Nendoroid toy of its antagonist, Monokuma. He comes with multiple faces, arms, and his gavel and Game Gear-looking punishment device.

The figure costs $39.50 new from J-List; it looks like Amiami has “pre-owned” ones at a lower price, along with a surprising variety of Monokuma junk.

This usually doesn’t happen to me with game characters, but Monokuma is such a monstrous asshole in-game that I kinda don’t want him in my house. I hate that guy. I mean, cute though.

This, our Year of Nendoroid Luigi ⊟

Exactly 2013 years ago, our savior Luigi was born. It’s only fitting then that Good Smile release these new photos of its planned Luigi figure today. When this releases in Japan, it will come with interchangeable faces, special backgrounds, and accessories (pipe, Bullet Bill, Goomba, dash clouds).

Artwork for these two new figures appeared at Japan’s Wonder Festival Summer (via @charmwitch). I’m going to assume these are coming this year, what with the Year of Luigi and all.

Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing figures on the way

Spotted at this weekend’s Wonder Festival show at Japan was this 1/8-scale figure of Fire Emblem: Awakening's hex-happy Tharja, which will be produced by Max Factory.

Max Factory also has a “Marth” Figma figure in the works, and GSC showed off this Nendoroid for Animal Crossing: New Leaf's secretary Shizue.

Love Plus Nene Anegasaki Nendoroid figure, by Good Smile Company. Somehow I managed to resist the urge to post the previous Manaka and Rinko figures, but this one is impossible to resist. It’s entirely too cute — and only a little creepy if you think too much about a childlike caricature of a character being marketed to people expected to have developed some measure of romantic feeling for that character.

I think this Nene figure is the best thing to come out of the whole Love Plus enterprise. It’ll be out in October for ¥3,500.
