Picnicking in Rune Factory 4. Like other Harvest Moon series games (of which Rune Factory is a spinoff), it is possible for your character to date and eventually marry an NPC. In this game, you can take that date out on a picnic — “and,” as Siliconera puts it, “if you’re lucky you might get a love confession.”
Or murdered, because there are monsters everywhere, even during your picnic.

What a nice thing of you to say, Sofia! If you’ve played Rune Factory 3, you’d know that this particular character has a habit of speaking in opposites, so Sofia here is actually trying to say that she quite fancies you.
Anyway, it’s quite suggestive language for an ESRB-rated “E for Everyone” game — in Japan, the appropriate phrase of disbelief would be, “CERO is A in this software!”

Someone on Twitter asked us last night why we weren’t covering Square Enix’s remake of Lufia II for the SNES and SFC. Honestly, I’ve never spent any time with the series, so I haven’t followed news on this title. Apparently, the Lufia games often have you controlling not just a party of heroes but also their descendants?
Somebody who’s actually played the Lufia games help me out here; what makes the franchise so great?
