"Phoenix Returns" by Nina ‘Space Coyote’ Matsumoto ⊟
This is one of several dozen pieces that will appear at Fangamer X Attract Mode, the amazing art show returning to Seattle’s 1927 Events during PAX at the end of the month.
How have we not already promoted this event to death? It’s run by two super friends (really, it’s a shame to see they’re at odds for this show), and the list of participating artists is nuts. The show will also feature some indie games (17-BIT’s GALAK-Z and Capy’s Synchroma), music (Danimal Cannon and, OMG, Virt), and more.
Cover is just $10 — be there on August 31, from 7PM to midnight. Prints will be available for sale at the show, and likely online afterward.

Robot Ninja Haggle Man 3 Famicom label
It’s the cartridge art the world I demanded after seeing Nina Matsumoto’s original illustration! Tiny Cartridge reader Lord Toon wasn’t the one who commissioned Nina for the piece, but he decided to answer my request anyway. Is anyone out there a bad enough dude to print this out and desecrate a Famicom cart with the label?

Robot Ninja Haggle Man 3 by Nina Matsumoto
Much like Indies Zero/Gears did when developing Haggle Man 3, Nina referenced Ninja Gaiden heavily for this sick commissioned piece. Apparently someone will be making a Famicom cartridge label out of the art? If you’re that someone, make sure to send us the results!

Street Fighter dudes and meatbuns rolled into a shirt
The LA Game Space continues to trot out some ridiculous rewards for its Kickstarter — along with the 30 games you can get by chipping in just $15, you can get this shirt, a tee from Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, or other designs when you throw in some extra cash.
This shirt comes from stylish apparel shop Meatbun and the good-hearted Nina Matsumoto (yes, of Game Center CX translations fame). LA Game Space is just a few thousand bucks away from hitting its pledge goal, so do your part to fund the project and get this tee!

Japanese cover for the Game Center CX in USA DVD. Holy crap, Stylejam used the fanart by Nina “Space Coyote” Matsumoto* that was presented to Arino at the LA fan meetup last year! How cool is that? Easily this cool (making a gesture with my hands indicating high level of coolness [I’m not really {not even sure what kind of gesture that would be}]).
Anyway, pretty dang cool, both as a DVD cover and as something for a GCCX fan to have happen to them.
*she’s also translating the Retro Game Master DVD!

Happy Birthday poster for Game Center CX's Arino, created by Nina “Space Coyote” Matsumoto for the Kacho's 40th birthday and actually shown on the last live special — hit this image up for all the hidden references.
A lot of you are likely familiar with Ms. Matsumoto’s work, not just from the previous GCCX fanart we posted, but from her efforts with the GCCX English fan translations. Apparently she’s helping re-translate all the subtitles for the upcoming GCCX U.S. DVD release, too, which is really awesome news!
In less than awesome news, I somehow missed that Ray Barnholt is no longer updating his GCCX episode guide for a number of reasons. Please load the site on your browser, and give it a salute from your desk. It’s the least we can do for all the work he’s put into it over the years.
