G.G. Series U.S. site launched →

Ahead of debuting its budget G.G. Series of DSiWare games in the States, Genterprise has launched an Engrish-y site introducing the first two titles headed here: Ninja Karakuri Den (or Ninja Robot Legend) and Super Hero Ogre.

Both games are priced at 200 Nintendo Points, and Ninja Karakuri Den, the Haggleman-esque (at least in the hero’s design) platformer shown in the above footage, is slated to release on August 23rd. You can watch more videos for the two downloadable titles here.

[Update: JC points out that the ESRB just rated two G.G. Series shoot’em ups — Wonder Land and ZONE!]

G.G. Series coming to the States! →

A surprising title popped up on the ESRB’s rating information site today: G.G. Ninja Karakuri Den (or Ninja Robot Legend), the Haggleman-esque platformer from Genterprise/Suzak’s budget DSiWare series in Japan.

“This is a strategy game [?] in which players control a ninja who jumps and dashes around each level while collecting coins and avoiding enemies. Some enemies can try to attack players with swords, throwing stars, and blow darts, requiring players to restart the level.”

Though this is the only G.G. Series title currently rated by the ESRB, it paves the way for Genterprise’s dozens of other 200 Point games to release in the U.S. DSiWare shop. Who knows, maybe we’ll one day even see the G.G. Series Collection+ cartridge released here!

Ninja Robot Legend video, now with a boss fight! Watching someone competent play this DSiWare import really does make a difference — it looks much more fun than the other gameplay clip I posted last week, which was demonstrated by a cat rolling back and forth over the controls while trying to coerce the ninja into scratching under its chin.

Tiny Cartridge has really become some sort of hub for Suzak news lately. Please excuse all the junk I’ve posted about the developer this past month — it’s not my fault they keep pumping out interesting projects.

Ninja Robot Legend gameplay. Despite its similarities in title with Robot Ninja Haggleman, this DSiWare game plays completely different. Here, you hop from one dropping block to another, avoiding enemy samurai and slashing at gears until you open an exit to the next stage. The curtain is a nice touch.

Super Hero Ouga, Genterprise and Suzak’s other budget GG. Series release on Japan’s DSiWare service this week, is equally simple. It’s as barebones as you’d expect from a beat’em up priced at 200 Nintendo Points:

Buy: U.S. Matte White, Pink, Black and Blue DSi

Import: Japanese Nintendo DSi (White, Black, Pink, Red, Lime Green, Metallic Blue)

Ninja Robot Legend, coming to DSiWare in Japan.

This is as blatant a Robot Ninja Haggleman rip-off as you can make — two-thirds of its title is identical, and the logo even has a set of gears! The mechanics are a little different, though, as the primary gimmick is its dropping floors, so you have to be light on your feet with this platformer.

Genterprise and Suzak have been killing it lately with its budget (200 Points) G.G. Series games in Japan, releasing two shoot’em ups last month, two puzzlers this week, and now two side-scrollers next week.

The other GG. Series title coming out next week is Super Hero Ouga, which is a 2D brawler that has you building up a hero gauge to unleash super attacks:

Again, totally killing it.

Buy: U.S. Matte White, Pink, Black and Blue DSi

Import: Japanese Nintendo DSi (White, Black, Pink, Red, Lime Green, Metallic Blue)
