DS/3DS Release Dates & Sales // Tiny Cartridge Stickers For Your Games!

Trailer for Doumo, DS Desu (Hello, I’m DS), a student game from the 2009 Nintendo Game Seminar. In this game, the DS itself, personified by a face on the top screen, interacts with the player, carrying on conversations in synthesized Japanese, playing games like tic-tac-toe, and even collaborating with the player to draw an undersea scene. It’s a chance for DS nerds to bond with their handhelds!

This game is available for download play through the Nintendo Channel in Japan through April 6, from DS download stations through April 7, McDonalds/Tsukuba Express Nintendo Zones March 26 through April 8, and on DSiWare never, for some reason.

Game Center CX Virtual Console special on Super Mario Kart. Arino’s task in this challenge was to complete five laps on Mario Circuit 1 under the extremely specific time limit of 1’03”68. He would have gotten it right away if he could have picked his preferred character, Wario, who isn’t available in the first Super Mario Kart.

Nintendaan was kind enough to provide us with an early look at this video. Here’s part 2:

Seven minutes of Utsusu! Made in Wario.

As great as our Tiny Review for Utsusu! Made in Wario was — and believe me, it was bloody fantastic — this preview gives you a better idea of how the game plays when you can actually get the downloadable title and the DSi camera to cooperate with your movements.

Unfortunately, this particular video doesn’t really show off how Utsusu! replays your goofy gestures in its title screen, an aspect of the DSiWare game that I really an enjoyed.

YouTube user NintenDaan has also put up two clips for Let’s Tap, which you should watch if you’re at all interested in this Sega game that bombed so hard in Japan, traumatized children who survived the title’s release will grow up to one day create moving films about the losses and tragedies they suffered in its aftermath.

Six minutes of Art Style: Decode.

Quite an odd puzzle game from Skip! Apparently, you flip LCD numbers and pick out groups that add up to 10. YouTube user NintenDaan has several more video previews of Nintendo’s new DSiWare releases, like Art Style: Aquario and Pyoro.

Strangely, most major gaming sites have hardly given DSiWare’s launch any coverage; you would think that they’d scramble to write about a console’s new game download service!

Perhaps everyone has been distracted by the holiday? Or maybe it’s just hard to care about budget-looking games released for a system that isn’t available in the West yet.
