No More Heroes beam katana replica, being auctioned by Grasshopper Manufacture for Japan relief. It’s predictably expensive — $720 right now — but 100% of the proceeds go to the Red Cross as part of the game industry’s “Play for Japan” initiative.
This “Blood Berry” replica was brandished by Suda 51 during Tokyo Game Show 2009, when Suda was doing interviews to promote No More Heroes 2. I was personally threatened with with this beam katana! According to the auction, it was primarily used as a reference for animation. It’s really impressive in real life. I totally want to bring it home for myself, but yeahhhhhhh.

No More Heroes 2 Sylvia Christel figure by Yamato. As far as I know, this representation of the enigmatic Sylvia about to burn the hell out of herself is the first statue to be released of a NMH character.
Even though this is $135 from AmiAmi, I’m going to suggest that the more financially irresponsible of you, and those able to get away with having provocative-looking figurines in your houses, totally pick this up so companies decide it’s good business to make No More Heroes stuff, despite the games not really selling in Japan.
There is currently no Travis Touchdown figure on my shelf. What the hell, people.

No More Heroes 2 poster. Grasshopper Manufacture is giving five of these awesome movie-style posters to Twitterers. The Japanese tweet about this giveaway asks fans to talk about their favorite No More Heroes characters, along with the reason for that preference and the #NMHXmas hashtag. But the U.S. side asks only for retweets of this message.
One of the five posters given away will be signed by Suda 51 and NMH character designer Yusuke Kozaki. The rest will merely be rad posters. That you should try to win.

No More Heroes 2 is once again super cheap, selling for $12.99 at Amazon, and I’m sharing this fanart of Travis Touchdown as a wolf to celebrate this deep discount. I had a tough time choosing between this image and another wonderful piece from BlueAtmosphere.
Amazon also has sales on both Phantasy Star Portable 2 and Metroid: Other M for $19.99, as well as two complicated promotions where you can save money and get $15 or $20 store credit after buying select games.
Anddddd, while we’re talking about sales, JC tells me that he’s heard reports of Target locations clearing Sin & Punishment 2 to $12. If you’re too lazy to go outside and check if it’s true, you can just buy it online for $19.99.

The single item is the No More Heroes 2 soundtrack, selling for ¥3,150 yen. To celebrate the launch, GHM is giving away a NMH2 Hopper’s Edition signed by Suda 51, along with other stuff throughout the week. As usual, I’d be super pleased if a TC reader got this swag!

Page 1 of “No More Loser,” from the “Erotica Comic” in the No More Heroes 2 Hopper’s Edition, fan-translated. Pages 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. This comic by No More Heroes character designer Yusuke Kozaki offers a tiny bit of background for Skelter Helter, the first assassin faced in NMH2.

Grasshopper Manufacture PR provided a status update regarding the currently unavailable webstore. It’s on hold indefinitely, while the company makes video games or whatever, but it sounds like it’s going to be the business (also, a business) when it is operational once again.
In addition to a small amount of old stock, GHM is looking to sell the shirts currently offered through Tee Party. “We are also looking into a collaboration with some famous t-shirt designers overseas,” GHM said.
Other items that GHM is considering include a small number of No More Heroes 2 Hopper’s Editions and NMH2 soundtracks. Unfortunately, NMH2 “Erotica Comics” are not going to be part of the stock, nor will the t-shirts produced in partnership with Graniph.

Grasshopper Manufacture “Grasshopper, Ink” t-shirt. The publisher revealed this new tattoo-inspired design on the same day as its “Hopper’s 4” event and the Japanese release of No More Heroes 2. It kind of looks like GHM’s goal is to build a catalog as eclectic as Travis Touchdown’s closet. I approve.

tags / no more heroes 2 / grasshopper manufacture / shirts / jcNew Grasshopper Manufacture t-shirts. Both shirts are available (in Japan) from GHM’s Teefury shop, for ¥3,500+ each. Guess I’m just going to have to tell people I audited a couple of courses at Guitar University.
In other GHM shirt news, Design Tshirts Graniph has picked its two No More Heroes-themed designs, which can be seen here. That star design is pure Travis Touchdown. These shirts cost a (comparatively) cheap ¥2,100, and will be released sometime this month.

“SS/SR” by Saitama no Rapper and THE RIOT - TEENS OF ANGER. This song is a collaboration between a group of rappers who appeared in a (fictional) film about small-town rap aspirations in Japan, and the band of Grasshopper Manufacture new hire Kazutoshi Iida — set to the tune of Skelter Helter’s music from No More Heroes 2. They’ll be appearing at Grasshopper’s “Hopper’s 4” event on October 21.
Also appearing at Hopper’s 4 will be the No More Heroes 2 Original Sound Tracks album. The album will premiere at the event, with additional copies to be sold on Grasshopper’s online shop at a later date. Only 1,000 are being printed. I believe (?) Grasshopper is actually planning to open up an international shop soon, so maybe we’ll be able to get cool GHM stuff like this for ourselves.

This time, it’s No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, which Newegg is selling for the unthinkably low price of $13.
Sure, it doesn’t come with all the stuff from the Hopper’s Edition, but THIRTEEN DOLLARS.

No More Heroes 2’s Japanese boxart, revealed today on the official website. It’s… pretty damned awesome. Between this boxart and the HOPPER’s Edition, I’m dangerously close to buying another copy of this game.
