Nyko has decided not to go forward with production of the 3DS Power Grip Pro, which combined a Circle Pad Pro and an extra battery into one sleek (for a Circle Pad Pro) package.
In a tweet to Empty Life Bar’s John Soto, a company rep said “The Power Grip Pro was a concept product we hoped to release, but we have no plans to release it at this time.” Of course, Nyko totally did have plans as of E3 (there was an October release date attached to it), but plans can always change, especially when, uh, something like the 3DS XL happens.

Nyko’s Power Grip Pro, the first third-party 3DS Circle Pad Pro accessory. This thing is important because Nintendo’s official accessory is super hard to find – although that fact suggests that maybe it won’t be necessary for many games.
Unlike the official model, this $30 accessory also includes an extra battery pack, which promises “up to 3x the playtime.” Nice! It’ll ship in October, just a few months after I bought this other Nyko battery. :(

Yo Gabba Gabba “Muno Time” clock radio charging dock for iPod/iPhone/3DS/DS, and … Hip Pack for portable systems. These two items are buried unassumingly in Nyko’s CES lineup, which otherwise contains normal stuff, like Vita batteries, game cases, speaker stands, etc.
I don’t know anything about Yo Gabba Gabba, but I’m going to learn, because of this game console charger alarm clock.

Nyko’s Power Grip 3DS. We talked about this battery and grip back in June, but the accessory is shipping to stores. Unlike the company’s Power Pak +, which doubled the system’s battery life, this one claims to triple it.
It also slips on instead of requiring installation, and charges with the stock 3DS power adapter — due to the added bulk/grip, it won’t fit in the dock, naturally.
The Power Grip is a bit expensive at $29.99, but if you’re looking for a cheap battery extender, the original Power Pak + is on sale right now for $13.26 ($20 with charger).
I’m sure the Nyko product that’s on all our minds, though, is a modified Circle Pad Pro add-on with a built in battery pack — I can’t believe Nintendo didn’t make this itself!

Four new Nintendo 3DS accessories from Nyko:
Sorry for the sporadic updates today — we’re covering E3 for different outlets, and I don’t know about JC, but I am so drained after putting up 18 posts today.

Our own JC Fletcher tested Nyko’s Power Pak + for the Nintendo 3DS, which boasts “double the battery life” of the system’s standard battery, to see if the extra charge was worth the 20 percent increase in thickness (and your cash), posting his full impressions over at Joystiq.
Along with applauding the Power Pak +’s “grippy texture” and “much nicer” cradle, he tested the batteries with both maxed out and conservative settings:
3D on, brightness maximum, wireless on:
3D off, brightness at minimum, Power-Saving on, wireless off:
At $19.99 for the battery alone (hooks up to 3DS AC adapter) and $29.99 for the battery/dock, I’m tempted to get one for myself, but the system pouch that I have right now already has a snug fit with the 3DS.

Nyko Power Pak+ and Charge Base for the 3DS. With the stereoscopic 3D effect being a battery hog on Nintendo’s system, this Power Pak+ seems like a handy thing to have for long trips or any extended gaming sessions (so long as you don’t mind the extra weight/bulk).
Nyko says the Power Pak+ offers “double the battery life of the original 3DS battery” — I’m not sure if that means it doubles or triples the 3DS’s existing 3.5-5 hour minimum battery life. The rechargeable power cell also features “debossed finger rests for improved control and comfort”.
From what I can tell, the Charge Base only works with the Power Pak+ and not a 3DS by itself (both hook up to a standard 3DS AC charger). The dock has an on/off switch and LED indicator lights to show its charging status.
The company plans to sell the Power Pak + by itself for $19.99 with the 3DS’s release, and a Charge Base/Power Pak+ bundle shortly after launch for $29.99.

Nyko Zoom Case for DSi.
Yeah, this is really happening, and it’s somehow more ridiculous than DreamGear’s 3-in-1 Flash Cover. This huge attachment gives the DS’s camera 8x zoom, enabling you to give people cat ears and Mario mustaches from a distance!
