If it weren’t for region-locking, I’m sure plenty of you would rush to import this. Before the 3DS launched, I predicted Europe would suffer the most out of the major markets from the system’s region-locking, but between this and the White/ Pink bundles hitting the territory in two weeks, gamers are living the life over there.

New Zelda/Robin Williams commercial for Ocarina of Time 3D. This one doesn’t have the novelty or charm of the original ad, but it still has Mr. Williams’ Castaways-esque beard, which is what matters at the end of the day.

Grezzo kept Ocarina 3D glitches on purpose

You know all those glitches from the N64 version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time that re-appeared in the recent 3DS remake? According to Ocarina of Time 3D’s developer Grezzo, it deliberately preserved those bugs!

The studio talked about it in an Iwata Asks roundtable with Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata:

Grezzo programmer Shun Moriya: One conflict arose when, as programmers, we wanted to get rid of bugs. But the staff members who had played the old game said the bugs were fun! We were like, “What?!” (laughs)

Satoru Iwata: Yes, that is an area of conflict.

Moriya: It wouldn’t be fun if your friends couldn’t say, “Do you know about this?” So we left them in if they didn’t cause any trouble and were beneficial.

“Anthem of a Misguided Youth” by Benjamin Briggs. This arrangement, originally posted six years ago, seems made for dudes like me trying to choose which Legend of Zelda remake to play on their 3DS this weekend: Link’s Awakening DX or Ocarina of Time 3D.

Briggs explains the feeling he tried to convey in this mix of “Gerudo Valley” and “Ballad of The Wind Fish”:

“The main theme I was trying to get across with this piece is the fact that the Gerudo people are all thieves, not knowing any differently.

This is their anthem. All of the sorrow, guilt, and weight of immorality is balanced with a sense of sisterhood and acceptance, which is what I tried to convey with the ‘happier’ sections of the piece.”

Someone’s happy about getting a copy of Ocarina of Time 3D yesterday. I promise not to make a habit out of posting Japanese idols, but I laughed out loud when I saw these.

The woman in these photos is actress, illustrator, and singer (she’s a triple threat!) Shoko Nakagawa, or Shokotan. Anime fans out there will likely know her for singing the theme on Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

In her post about Ocarina of Time 3D, she wrote out “GOD GAME” in vertical text. The shots of her cat — one of seven I believe — is from a separate entry, but I’m including it here because that cat is huuuuugeeeee.

Feel free to send us links to your own self-taken photos like these (in the same poses) after procuring The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time this weekend.

New Ocarina of Time 3D commercial with Robin Williams and his daughter, Zelda — yes, she is named after the Nintendo series’ princess, so it’s all very appropriate.

Wow, Robin Williams’ beard is magnificent. That apartment looks killer, too, but the view is fake!

Tiny Preview: Ocarina of Time 3D

As mentioned on Twitter earlier (follow us!), I spent a few hours with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D recently, and so far it’s an enjoyable remake.

Having abandoned consoles for PC gaming in the mid-90s, I missed the PS1/N64 generation and never experienced the original, so I can play this sans rose-tinted glasses or Water Temple grudges. Since a few readers asked about my limited hands-on time with Ocarina of Time 3D, I whipped up some brief impressions.
