Phantasy Star Online Elenor figure by Kotobukiya. Ten years after the Dreamcast game’s release, and eight years after this figure’s appearance at Wonder Festival as a garage kit, this figure of a non-playable RAcaseal from what little story PSO had is being mass-produced, with a May 2011 release date. This is like the best thing.

AmiAmi is offering this figure at a price of ¥2,530 ($31). And now, the intro to PSO.

Yaaaaaay.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 tie-in items. So Phantasy Star Zero has a couple of jokey magazines as weapons, and a couple of Nintendo items (the Samus gun is ace) but it doesn’t have a shield that projects a giant Famitsu logo. And it doesn’t have an Ocha-ken weapon.

The blatant overloading of the game with promotional content is far too hilarious to be offensive. And, you know, if this is what it takes to perpetuate the (expanding) Phantasy Star Online series, then it’s something Tiny Cartridge Presented by Inokichi Cup O’ Chicken Noodles can get behind.

“Crescent Serenade” from the Phantasy Star Zero soundtrack. This is basically classic PSO: really atmospheric, with a mix of orchestral and sci-fi type sounds. I don’t know how to describe music.

Famitsu reports that PS0’s soundtrack, along with the soundtracks to Phantasy Star Online, PSO Episode I & II, PSO Blue Burst, PSO Episode III (THE CARD-BASED ROLE-PLAYING GAME), and the Phantasy Star Universe series are all available on iTunes in Japan. So if you know how to access Japanese iTunes, you can do that. Or, if I’m an idiot and I missed their domestic release, you can tell me.

I mean… I looked, but there’s always a chance I’m an idiot. I’m prepared for that eventuality.
