What is going on in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon?
Apparently Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity is a really, really sad game.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity 4Koma
If these are your first 4komas, remember to read these from right to left! I wish more people would translated these game-themed 4komas, as they’re always great to share here. This particular pair originally appeared at Pokesho (I found them translated at The Mystery Dungeoner).
Between this and Snivy’s late-night chats, I’m really regretting that I’ve spent so much time playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate instead of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity.
Why no one likes to sleep over at Snivy’s
These are some serious feels you’re laying on me, Snivy. Thought I was going to just pass out here after a day’s worth of adventuring, but now I’m rolling to the side so you can’t see the tears streaming down my face while you tell your life story.
You don’t have to face the world alone, Snivy. Though it’s killing me that I can’t turn around and tell you that, I don’t want you to see me crying. I know it’s stupid or childish or whatever you want to call it. But… Believe it or not, I’ve never had anyone I could depend on either, and I’m not as strong as I make myself out to be.

what is happening
All right, maybe I’ll check out one of these games. Did you realize Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity launched yesterday? Technically, that’s why the Pikachu 3DS XL was released as well, but that special edition hardware (along with Luigi’s Mansion) completely overshadowed the game.
Hold up, the Pikachu 3DS XL is in this U.S. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity commercial
A hint that the limited edition system will make an appearance in the States, or Nintendo of America trolling dudes?
PREORDER Pokemon X and Y, PMD: Gates to Infinity, upcoming releases
Hey, I just got the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon demo
And this is… what happens when you meet Swanna in PMD: Gates to Infinity. Shout outs to Karkachu for taking a photo of this convo and posting it online. Additional out-shouting to the eShop for being so awesome today.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity releases to North America on March 24
It will be the first Mystery Dungeon 3DS game to release in the States, and hopefully won’t be the last — I’m still disappointed that Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 5 (on DS) never made it outside of Japan.
Along with online multiplayer, this Pokemon dungeon-crawler features a new gimmick:
“Players can gain access to additional Mystery Dungeons through ‘Magnagates’. To open the Magnagates, players scan circular objects in the real world using the Nintendo 3DS Camera, allowing them to continue their adventure, even after they have completed the main Mystery Dungeons.”
The image above, by the way, isn’t from Gates to Infinity (the starters this time around are Pikachu, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, and Axew) — it’s just some awesome art I found in birdman@jupiter’s gallery, which has so many beautiful Pokemon pieces.
Pokemon build a town together in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth. Following this happy little scene, shit gets real up in this Magnagate.
Amidst all the Wii U news last week, an announcement for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth snuck out, coming to Japan this Winter.
Developed by Spike Chunsoft (makers of many other fine Mystery Dungeon roguelikes) once again, the 3DS game has you scanning real-world objects with the portable’s camera, turning them into Magnagate portals that will transport your creatures to dungeons.
