Dark Layton, Dark Phoenix Wright, and Level-5-style Dark Phoenix Wright, scrapped designs from the Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney artbook. These images were posted by @RyougaSaotome and are awesome.
I want to live in the alternate universe where this is the game. I can kind of visit that universe by searching Tumblr, where Dark Layton fanart is starting to show up in surprising amounts. Warning, sometimes almost always, searching Tumblr for fanart results in hella NSFW stuff.

Sample pages of the Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney art book, out in Japanese stores tomorrow. Both of these series have spectacular art direction, so I’m not surprised this art book looks so nice.
Here’s another nice thought: even though this book might not be released in America, books aren’t region-locked, so you don’t need special equipment to look at an import copy.

Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright concept art, showing the characters in the styles of each others’ games. And Layton as a robot for some reason. These images were released as gallery DLC for the 3DS game.
I like how Layton gets super manly and/or robotic, and Luke just looks the same. Lukes gonna luke.

There is some craziness going on in Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, or at least in this art for the 3DS game.
Check out Hershel Bad Motherfucker Layton facing the beast like a hero of archaeology. Everyone is running for their lives, but he’s all: “I see a hidden puzzle!”
Yeah, professor. The puzzle is “There are a bunch of Dementor-type bird ghosts up in this piece. See if you can figure out how to get the fuck out of here.”

Here’s a new Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney trailer out of Tokyo Game Show, too! And a Professor Layton 6 video for good measure. Lots of great 3DS stuff from TGS!

Shots from a Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney cutscene, showing Phoenix and Maya on a flight to London, animated by Bones (who you might remember is also animating Grasshopper Manufacture’s shooter in Guild01).
No new details about the game for the moment, but it’s still slated to release in Japan for 3DS this year.

New Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney TGS trailer. The new 3D models for Phoenix and Layton are quite nice in motion! The whole game, unsurprisingly, looks hot.
An English-language press release for this 3DS game was found at TGS last week, implying a Western release is in the works. It seems obvious that Level-5 would consider it, what with this being the top-voted entry in the publisher’s poll for which games its fans are most excited about (Ni no Kuni for PS3, the wrong version, was the survey’s second most popular item and will come to the U.S. in early 2012).

First Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney screenshots. The new characters accompanying the professor, Phoenix, Luke, and Maya, are Mahoney, the blond girl accused of being a witch; and Jeeken, the ginger prosecutor/knight.
This Level-5/Capcom 3DS collab, which has only been announced for Japan so far, introduces a “Mob Judgment” system in which ”Phoenix goes up against a crowd of witnesses” and “witnesses may talk amongst themselves during a cross-examination”.
