I’ve heard almost nothing but good things about Radiant Historia — except in regards to its availability. Luckily, Atlus announced this weekend that it’s undertaking a second print run, to be released in “late March.”

The company specifically identifies AmazonAmazon.ca, and EBGames.ca as stores that will carry the new stock. Said new stock, by the way, will not include the soundtrack CD bundled with the first printing.

Queen to C3!

Leading up to Black Friday, Amazon is running a series of game deals, like its "4 Star Games Under $20" sale that includes 159 DS, PSP, Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, and PC titles.

On the DS side, you can get quality releases like Radiant Historia, Chrono Trigger DS, and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor for $19.99.The under-appreciated Monster Tale is also super cheap at $13.99.

[Update: Argh, it looks like everyone bought all the copies of Radiant Historia, so that particular game is no longer part of the sale — it may re-appear later, though.]

Atlus’ time-travelling RPG Radiant Historia, a DS game I haven’t seen discounted much (which I’m presuming is due to another one of the publisher’s infamous limited print runs), is the Amazon deal of the day today, priced at $24.50. If you can find something else to throw in that order, shipping is free! No soundtrack CD, though.

Radiant Historia screenshots, podcast

Atlus sent out some Radiant Historia screens featuring royal boasting, moving orders, and, as you can see above, pants theft. You may have already heard about the time travel feature in this RPG, but maybe you didn’t know about those other new features! Like the one in which your avatar demands clothes. Check out the rest after the break.

If you’re piqued by these images, or already way into Radiant Historia fandom, check out this week’s 1UP Active Time Babble podcast, in which Atlus’s Aram Jabbari drops science about the game, and even talks a little about that weird period when Atlus localized every DS game in the world, including Steal Princess and My World, My Way.

Radiant Historia “Time-Traveling Walkthrough” trailer. This video is perfect for anyone who hasn’t been keeping a very close eye on Atlus’s upcoming DS game — not that I know anyone like that, being a well-informed professional journalist and all. Being able to jump back and forth along (explicitly laid-out) timelines looks really damn cool!

Radiant Historia will be released February 22, and will come with a free bonus soundtrack CD, because it’s an Atlus game, and free CDs are in Atlus’s nature, just like it’s in my nature to definitely already know everything about Radiant Historia. Like the enemy grid system. That’s just one of the things I had already heard of before ten minutes ago.

"I’m gonna run. I’m gonna run so far away. I’m gonna run all night and day!" This appeared in a batch of new screenshots Atlus sent over for its RPG Radiant Historia.

Atlus: “Hey, do you like Flock of Seagulls?”
Tiny Cartridge: “I can see you do!”

OF course, this corny joke/reference flies over the head of anyone who hasn’t listened to “I Ran” or watched The Wedding Singer. I highly suggest experiencing both! In fact, you should jump over to Youtube right now and listen to "Space Age Love Song" (a mix CD classic!) and “Wishing (If I had a Photograph of You” while you’re at it.

English trailer for Radiant Historia, coming to the U.S. on February 22. Thanks, Atlus! Now about 7th Dragon

The steampunkish RPG’s primary draws include Chrono Trigger-style time traveling that allows you to significantly change future events and endings, a tactical combat system in which character/enemy positions and your manipulation of them is key, and music composed by Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts, Parasite Eve).

Related to that last point, it’s no big surprise, but Atlus will throw in a free music CD featuring unique piano arrangements with each launch copy of Radiant Historia.
