DS Dates giveaway: Protect ya screen

As part of our efforts to insinuate our DS Dates spinoff site into everyone’s online experience, we’re holding another easy contest and giving away multiple Keys Factory screen guards (with the handy applicator guide!).

As many of gamers have learned in the past, screen guards are essential for ensuring that your DS/DSi touchscreens don’t get scratched up. The same will be true with the Nintendo 3DS — as the Wu-Tang Clan/Rza once rapped, “Ain’t a damn thing changed, boy, protect ya screen”.

Screen Guard DSi+. I didn’t expect innovation in DS screen covers, but Keys Factory’s DSi cover has the smartest design I’ve ever seen. The applicator thing features a cutout of the DS D-pad, so you can easily line up the screen cover!

Having just experienced the horror of screen covers again with my PSP, I really appreciate this. Although I don’t actually know where to buy one.

Preorder accessories for your theoretical DSi →

We may not be able to preorder an actual DSi yet, but Play-Asia is offering preorders on three different screen protectors for the handheld’s slightly larger screens. Hori’s Touch Panel Screen Protection Filter DSi only costs $4, but doesn’t include a cover for the top screen. The Liquid Crystal Protection Filter DSi, also from Hori, and Keys Factory’s Screen Guard DSi both include top screen covers, and both sell for $6.99.

These things actually will ship out on November 1st, so you can grab them now and avoid being forced to play a naked DSi when it finally arrives.
