Action Puzzle Rabi x Labi Episode 2. While we patiently (or idly) await the North American DSiWare release of the first game as “Rabi Laby,” Silver Star is releasing a sequel on February 22.

The sequel still features Alice and Lili the rabbit working cooperatively to solve platforming challenges, but, according to Inside-Games, it also adds new characters and new game modes. Apparently, you also get help this time from crabs, frogs, caterpillars, and other animals!

I’m fascinated with the prolific output from Silver Star Japan. It seems to be the only company that thinks it’s worthwhile to make a bunch of DSiWare games.

Magical Whip for DSiWare by Silver Star, out in Japan November 10. Check out a trailer here.

I get a pretty clear Bubble Bobble vibe from this game, only with witches instead of dinosaur things … and with a lower budget. I like how you can catch the enemies you just killed after they pop up into the air. Maybe a kind of interesting mechanic? Maybe 200 Points worth of interesting? I don’t know.

Bomberman as a Laputa: Castle in the Sky robot, by Sakkan (click the image for a larger version).

This tribute to Miyazaki and Hudson introduces the first story in a busy list of Japanese DSiWare news — Itsudemo Bomberman, or Bomberman Anytime, will hit Japan’s DSiWare service this October for 500 Nintendo points, according to Famitsu. Hudson hinted this new edition a month ago, so everyone saw it coming. The real mystery is will it have dinosaurs and/or kangaroos?

Just two weeks after Ketsui DS developer Arika released a new bullet hell game for DSiWare, Genterprise has revealed two shoot’em ups for its budget (200 points) G.G. series: Z.ONE, a horizontal-scrolling SHMUP featuring a Pod that fires in eight directions; and Wonder Land, a vertical-scroller themed after Alice in Wonderland.

Those two will hit Japan next week, as will Saikyoo Silver Star Go from Silver Star Japan (essentially Go), and a very strange card/board game from Nintendo titled Asoberu Ehon Mind Ten, both priced at 500 points.

Finally, Dragon Quest Wars appeared on the ESRB site, indicating a U.S. release for the simple strategy game.
