I saw from the reactions on Twitter that other people are as in love with the Slime mugs as I am. So here’s a PSA: J-List is taking pre-orders on them now. The Slime, Slime King, and Slime Knight mugs are on the site, for $24 each, shipping in March.
No sign of the Slime Stack or Liquid Metal Slime yet, but those are due to ship later in Japan anyway.

Metal Slime ship in Slime Morimori Dragon Quest 3. You’ll encounter these ships occasionally on your travels, only to discover that they behave just like the land-based Metal Slimes, beating a hasty, and nautical, retreat.
With luck and (more likely) patience, you can collect all the parts and build your own Metal Slime ship. Or you can wait for the inevitable toy version, if you would rather have one out of the game.

Dragon Quest Slime scarf by Etsy user GrandmasNook. There must be some part of the world where it isn’t 100+ degrees every day (though, after this summer, I literally can’t imagine what that’s like); if you happen to live in one of those places, this would make the perfect accessory for you.
“GrandmasNook” says that she made this crocheted Slime scarf because both her daughter and granddaughter are big Dragon Quest fans. “The slime is just adorable so I couldn’t resist making it!” Well, obviously!

Dragon Quest 25th Anniversary Slime keychain. If these were going to be available this month (and therefore for sale in Square Enix’s TGS goods booth) I guarantee you it would be Party Slime in my pocket by mid-this week.
Instead, it’s coming out in late October, and therefore I have to make a deliberate effort to spend like $20 on it at AmiAmi or Amazon Japan. And if I’m able to think about it before making that decision, yeah. That’s $20 on a keychain.

These are sort of a followup to Hori’s wonderful Slime Speaker Stand, though they aren’t built to hold a DS. They’re billed as 3DS accessories, but could work with anything. They’re a set of three wired speakers designed to be stackable into the shape of a Slime Tower. Hori will release this in honor of the series’ 25th anniversary, in November for ¥4,980 ($65).
I’m not sure I need another Slime speaker, but at the same time, of course I do.

Slime meat buns looking way tasty/cute. These aren’t another exclusive for the DQ-themed Luida’s Bar in Tokyo; a bunch of Family Mart convenience stores across Japan will carry this blue treat soon for ¥170 (US$2.20).
Speaking of Slimes, the other big DQ news that came out early this morning is that Slime Mori Mori DQ 3, the 3DS follow-up to Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime, releases in Japan on November 2nd. Annnd, there’s still no word on whether Nintendo/Square Enix plan to bring this game (or the meat bun!) to the West.
