Slime 3DS skins

FINALLY. Etsy seller GameThemedThings has reproduced the Slime pattern from the Dragon Quest Monsters 3DS (the best 3DS). Sure, it’s missing the caption, but some would consider that a positive.

Plus, it’s available in two different color schemes, for any color 3DS and 3DS XL. And like all these skins, it’s way cheaper than buying a limited edition 3DS.

Metal Slime Keyboard!

Today has turned into an unintentional theme day on Tiny Cartridge, with the discovery of Hori’s Metal Slime version of its excellent Slime keyboard, complete with removable Slime figures on the buttons, and even a Liquid Metal Slime on the escape button … naturally.

Ostensibly, it’s for use with Dragon Quest X, and includes some in-game Metal Slime stuff, but who cares. It’s USB, it’ll work with things.

This is going to be released sometime in the spring for ¥4980 ($53), and judging by how quickly the last one sold out, I don’t have much time to think about it if I want to buy one of these. Is a novelty keyboard something I need at this point in my life…

Slime hats! Joystiq’s Jordan Mallory spotted these in Square Enix’s TGS shopping area.
The stuffed caps sell for ¥2,000 each ($25.63), and I’m not sure I could pull it off. By which I mean I’m not sure I’d ever remove it once I put it on.

This might be of very little importance to you unless you’re totally ALL ABOUT SLIMES, but I figure there are enough people writing reading Tiny Cartridge for it to be worth pointing out.

The Fit’s Magiq “Sour Slime & Lime” gum, featuring adorable Slimes on the wrapper, is available for import from J-List. It’s $2.80 plus shipping per pack, which seems expensive, so I’d better just throw a couple of Popin’ Cookin’ kits in while I’m here. You know, to get the most out of the shipment.

Fit’s MAGIQ x Dragon Quest X gum, in Sour Lime & Slime flavors, shot by Q-Games producer James Mielke

I know it’s a simple package made up of stock character art, but … I want a couple of packs! That Slime wrapping around each piece is adorable. It’s got to taste better than the Slime drinks.

Slime Race board game! I’m not super sure how it works, but it involves drawing cards to move one of five slime pieces around the board and oh man who cares it’s a Slime board game!!!

In addition to five little Slimes, this also comes with a set of other monsters that are used to denote points on the board, and fifteen coins. It’s up for “tentative preorder” at Amiami for ¥2,750 ($35ish) with a mid-September release date.

Slime soap! SLIME SOAP. I continue to love the trend of using pretty much any object as a mold to create startlingly realistic soaps, and this Slime soap by Geek Soap is THE BEST example.

Unfortunately, the shop is currently on vacation, so if you really want to give your guests the gift of bathroom Party Slime, bookmark Geek Soap until August.

Hori’s absolutely glorious Slime Keyboard. Look at the slime function keys! Look at the slime directional keys! Look at the Roman numeral keys!
Ostensibly, this is a Wii accessory designed to tie in with Dragon Quest X Online –  it even comes with codes for in-game items. But there’s no reason you couldn’t use it as a USB keyboard for your computer. You know, for important business. When you read Tiny posts in late August, know that about half of them are going to be written from one of these.

So god damn jelly: limited edition Dragon Quest Monsters 3DS unboxing. Will there ever be a finer looking 3DS? Probably not, what with Nintendo replacing this model with the new 3DS Pro next week, am I right?

You’ll notice in the clip’s second half that, like all big 3DS releases in Japan, the packaging for Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D features inside cover art for the eco-friendly box. Why hasn’t anyone created a site hosting scans of all these to print out yet?

Anyway, you can still import one of these bundles from Play-Asia for an insane $449.90. My birthday is coming up in a month, guys. Might as well buy my gift now while it’s on your mind, before you forget.

Slime iPhone case, because you don’t have a Slime face on absolutely everything yet. “But what if I have an iPhone 3G/3GS instead of a 4?” you might ask me, as if I’m responsible for making this (I’m not). You can still totally buy that!
This stuff is all created by uploading an image to Society6, so there’s really a lot of stuff you can get with (unofficial, yes) Slime faces on it. Prints, phone skins, laptop skins, cards, canvases(!)…

If Japan-exclusive 3DS games like the Renegade remake, Fire Emblem, and Denpa Ningen RPG are calling to you, and you want what is clearly the best 3DS ever, this may be of use to you. Play-Asia is taking pre-orders on the Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D special edition 3DS, shipping May 31.

It, um, costs $449.90. But, uh, iPads cost more than that and people buy those! I’m really trying to think of a way that this wouldn’t be crazy.
