Amazon also has a bunch of other accessories on sale today for DS, 3DS, Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, and Mac, but this smiling speaker and stand is def the best of them all.

Though it’s helped raise awareness for the plight of DS owners who don’t yet have this critical accessory, our attention on the Dragon Quest Slime Speaker Stand and its Amazon discounts had the unfortunate side effect of spiking the item’s price above the $19 mark.

Conditions have stabilized for the squishy stand, however, and it’s now reached a record low price of $17.91, a full 69 cents cheaper than last weekend’s tag. And reports from consumers indicate that the DS Lite/DSi accessory is being enjoyed by both hu-mons and dogs.

While you have your credit card out, you should also examine Amazon’s “Buy Two Games, Get One Free” sale, which includes a selection of nearly 400 DS, Wii, PSP, PS3, PS2, and Xbox 360 titles. Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t remind you that these generous Wii arcade stick deals are still active (B1G1 free TvC stick sale ends today).

As you may have noticed in recent weeks, we have been following the fluctuating prices on Amazon for Hori’s Dragon Quest Slime Speaker Stand, an accessory that acts a speaker, a DSi/DS Lite stand, and a rare ray of light brightening your otherwise doleful life.

We’ve watched its price closely as it descended from the expensive $50 to $28, then $25, then $23. Earlier this week, the speaker hit $20, and we thought, “This is it. There’s no way this beautiful thing can go any lower.” We were proven wrong yesterday when it dipped to $19.07, though, and now it’s a ridiculous $18.60.

What is the deal here. Has the bubble of DQ Slime accessories popped? Did Amazon realize its stock of Slime Speaker Stands have been overvalued compared to the import Metal Slime Speaker Stands? How long will it be before prices drop to $15, a price so low that no DS Lite/DSi owner will have an excuse to not buy one?

Amazon in Japan is accepting preorders for this Hori speaker/stand (¥3,816, $42!) modeled after Dragon Quest’s blue mascot, and has  put up new photos of the accessory in action, which we couldn’t wait to share with you. Look at all those music notes!
