“Earning some coins,” a Threadless submission by alvarejo. I like that this shirt features not so much a reinterpretation of Mario (as so many others do) but what is basically just a damn raccoon floating awkwardly in the air.

I’d be lying, however, if I claimed to post this for any reason other than to quote Jenn Frank’s post about it: “Except for, where are his testicles, but on the other hand, I probably would not want to explain my t-shirt’s ponderous ballsack all day long, so never mind.” We must do our best to get through life without having conversations about our t-shirts’ ballsacks.

Tan Nuyen’s “Super” design turned into a shirt! Well, a shirt design submission that still needs votes before Threadless will actually print and sell the tee.

If you’ve been following this site for a while now — and much thanks to those who have — you’ll remember this Venn diagram of SNES buttons from when we posted it more than a year ago! And here it is now as something you can maybe one day wear.

While we’re following up on old artwork, remember that “Mario Brothers - BP Oil Edition” image we posted a few days ago? Reader Ro4ch created a sad video based on that screenshot, which you should check out.

Friendliest Power-Up,” a Threadless t-shirt design submission. If you want to express your Mario and Totoro fandom in tandem, and if you want our pal Patrick Prine to be a winner in the game of “having your shirts printed at Threadless,” then you might consider voting on the submission.

You might then consider playing Super Mario Bros. 3 and watching My Neighbor Totoro again. Man, when was the last time you played and watched those, respectively?

Excitebike shirts by The King of Games, and “Endless Forms Most Battleful” by by Santiago Sanchez and Sam McNally for Threadless. Two totally different takes on the Nintendo shirt.

Two kind of neat shirt designs. First, “8-bit Blues” by Jaakie201, which is a cute variant on the usual “blowing on NES cartridges” joke, which normally irritates the hell out of me on shirts. If you like it, go vote for it, because this submission hasn’t been chosen for printing by Threadless yet!

Second, “Metal Sonic Sprites” by Trunks & Soto. The same idea as the webcomic’s Sonic Sprite shirt, but with cooler-looking Metal Sonic sprites, in the shape of a cooler-looking Metal Sonic head. This one is available for sale for $17.95.

“The Ultimate Combo,” a new Threadless shirt by David Soames. A cute twist on the normal Street Fighter button combo shirt. Or something.

“A Simple Plan” by Neil Gregory. This new Threadless shirt is pretty much exactly what I wanted from a Space Invaders shirt, though I wouldn’t have guessed that I’d like a “joke” shirt. The joke is clever and actually makes sense with the game, even using the familiar Invader formation in a new context. It’s also pleasing to look at!

Dear designers: this does not mean I am sated. KEEP MAKING SPACE INVADERS SHIRTS.
