“Leaked” photo from a Solatorobo 2 trailer. The story behind this image, as relayed to us by a couple French (!) gaming sites, is that Solatorobo character designer Nobuteru Yūki himself, teased this shot on Twitter.
On that Twitter account, which was created just yesterday and is presented in English for some reason, Yūki — whose past credits include huge anime productions like Escaflowne, X, and Clover — says he took the picture two days ago when no one was around.
So, yes, a famous animator/character designer started a Twitter account just so he could ruin his career by posting info for a sequel to an unpopular game he worked on. That’s exactly what happened here, for sure.

The asininity of his statement should be self-evident, but Game|Life has a piece on Sony’s recurring “Nintendo is for babies” line that is too great to not link.

If you missed it, earlier this week, Bill Mooney, vice president at FarmVille developer Zynga, said with a straight face, “More people have played FarmVille than have played Mario”. To which Winnie the Pooh replied:

Presumably, the XBLA and PC releases will have multiplayer support, likely online.
Refenes went on to describe WiiWare’s file constraints as “frustrating” while praising the Xbox 360: “The Xbox, being the more powerful machine with no size limits, just allows us to do more.” To make up for the missing features in the WiiWare version, the developer has boosted the number of single-player levels from 100 to over 300.
When asked if he’s worried about the enhanced XBLA edition impacting sales for the less attractive WiiWare releases, Refenes danced around the question with the above statement.

Space Invaders: Infinity Gene is great and all, but real talk, the game Apple decided to show off shortly after that quote was a touch-controlled Halo clone… from Gameloft. Everyone knows that game is gonna be total Butt City, Population: a butt on your iPhone that you think is a game.

I hate to give Pelloni’s moonstruck predictions any attention, especially since other sites have caught on to his foolery and are already doing a fine job documenting it, but it really bothers me that he’s extoling his homemade game at the expense of other homebrew projects.
Speaking of, if you have a minute, make sure to check out 2008’s best DS homebrew, picked out by Chris Greenhough at DS Fanboy. Not a bad list!

Robert Pelloni, the sole programmer behind Bob’s Game, an indie DS title five years in the making.

Though I admire that he has the motivation to create a game by himself, I very much doubt that Nintendo will choose Bob’s Game as a marquee title to showcase its new content delivery platform with, especially considering the uncompelling trailers released so far.
