Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Gaiden theme.

This top-notch track was ripped from Square Enix’s newly launched Japanese site for the game — the chiptune and orchestral mix is fitting for what the company is promising will be “newly retold classic”, a modernization of the first Final Fantasy’s formula in which four adventurers come together to save the world.

As everyone suspected, Matrix Software, the studio behind the FFIII and FFIV remakes, is working on this title while Takashi Tokita, who headed titles such as Parasite Eve and Chrono Trigger, serves as director.

The game will support up to four players, though Square Enix hasn’t specified in what capacity. It will also feature a “Crown System” for changing your characters’ job.
