Wind Waker art from Comics vs Games 3D ⊟
Jesse Tise’s lovely illustration above will be part of Attract Mode’s Comics vs Games 3D Gallery next week, a collection of video game tributes from talented animation and comic artists — this is the first revealed piece from the gallery! In case it’s not clear, all of the artwork will be presented in 3D, and anaglyph glasses will be passed around. It would be neat if some of these pieces ended up viewable on 3DSes eventually!
Toronto’s Bento Miso will host the gallery, launching it with an opening reception on May 8th — make sure to RSVP on so you won’t miss out on the rad art, food, drinks, music, and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime tournament. If you can’t make it to the opening, you’ll be able to buy prints at Bento Miso’s amazing Bit Bazaar Spring Fair event on May 10 during the Toronto Comic Arts Festival.
Also taking place May 10 at TCAF under the Comics vs Games banner (presented by The Hand eye Society and Attract Mode): a number of inspiring talks from comic and game creators, and a showcase of experimental games created through collaborations between comic and game makers. Someone buy me a plane ticket for Toronto plz.

It’s even more adorable than I expected! Releasing in Japan this August (priced at ¥3,704, or $36.47), this figure from Good Smile includes the sword, shield, heart container, several facial expressions, and more.

Thanks to Thomas P. for the tip!

Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3, and Wonderful 101 Club Nintendo shirts ⊟

These shirts are, alas, for Japan only, available for 600 points alone on their release dates, or 400 points with purchase of the game.

Well, I say for Japan only, but I’m pretty sure Nintendo will have all of these at PAX, or at least similar shirts. I’m not going to PAX, so that doesn’t count.

That looks like a special Wind Waker HD Wii U ⊟
This image popped up in a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker's “Hero Mode” — I don't know if Nintendo jumped the gun on this reveal, as it's taking down the videos people have posted for it.
We’ve no clue if this will actually be a limited edition bundle, how much it will go for or when it will release, or about any other details. I’m surprised Nintendo didn’t go for a gold console, but I guess this matches the special edition Legend of Zelda 3DS.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD

I’ve already seen a number of people who prefer the cel-shaded graphics of the GameCube edition (or the gorgeous visuals on a Dolphin setup), but I’m just as excited about the other additions in this enhanced Wii U port:

  • Gameplay tweaks
  • Off-TV GamePad play support
  • Miiverse compatibility

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD is expected to release this fall.
