Sketches of Fire Emblem: Awakening promo/packaging art
Two related things to read during your lunch break today:
- FE: Awakening character designer Yusuke Kozaki answered some questions on Reddit
- Localization team 8-4 conducted an Iwata Asks-style interview with several developers from Intelligent Systems
The latter item has a lot of great stuff, like the images we’ve shared above!
Fire Emblem’s upcoming Knights of Iris “material collections” book has an amazing cover illustration by Yusuke Kozaki, but it’s a bit spoilery since the game’s unmasked antagonist is featured, so I’ve cropped it and dropped the rest past the post break.
You might have already heard about this when it was announced a while back, but the 320-page book features sketches, character art, a full support conversation directory, and more. It releases in Japan at the end of the month, and you can pick up a copy online for $67.49.
Here’s a high resolution version of the full cover, plus a preview of the contents (click for larger images):
Dat Yusuke Kozaki art. Here’s the cover for the latest Club Nintendo prize in Japan, a 20-track OST for Fire Emblem: Awakening. I almost want this game to never come out, so there could an endless stream of promo artwork for it.

Fire Emblem: Awakening has a weird rabbit girl thing. At least, JC tells me she’s supposed to be some kind of rabbit creature. She doesn’t look like any bunny I remember from Watership Down — which, by the way, would make for an amazing Fire Emblem-style tactical RPG.
Did you know that Yusuke Kozaki, the character designer behind No More Heroes, is lending his talents to this project? That’s why the art looks so modern and slick, and a bit familiar to Grasshopper Manufacture fans.
