Wind Waker Link and more new toys from Wonder Festival ⊟
The Wonder Festival 2014 Winter is going on right now, and it’s not all completely unobtainable garage kits. No, there are previews of things you’ll be able to actually buy! And then get out of the package, put on the shelf, and think “man what am I going to do with this.”
Some gamey things being shown off (thanks to the people whose Tweets I aggregated to find this stuff!) include Solid Snake, Toon Link, and previews of upcoming Figma Zero Suit Samus, A Link Between Worlds Link, and Cordelia (!). Do people like Cordelia that much? I mean, she’s all right, but definitely not in my top… whatever number of Fire Emblem: Awakening characters it takes for me to start forgetting about Fire Emblem characters.
Don’t forget to grab Four Swords from the eShop! ⊟
Today is the last time you will be able to get The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords - Anniversary Edition from the 3DS eShop in the U.S. for a long time, if not forever! And it’s free! Thanks to Karlos Tim for the photo. Apologies to Europe.
Animal Crossing necklace and more ⊟
This Leaf Necklace from Fangamer is like wearing any piece of furniture on your person. What is it? Is it a daruma? A balloon TV? A neutral corner?
While you’re at Fangamer, don’t forget to cop a Tiny Cartridge sticker pack — that Kissing Party sticker should would be great to give a cutie on Valentine’s Day.
Was there a Zelda holiday I missed today? ⊟
Because Nintendo of America just unceremoniously dumped A Link to the Past onto the Wii U eShop ($7.99), and Four Swords Anniversary Edition onto the 3DS eShop. The latter is available to download for free until February 2.
Thanks to everyone who sent us this tip, and to Go Get Good for the GIF.
3DS comic by Elizabeth Simins ⊟
Read the full comic, with more family Zelda time and lovingly rendered 3DSes and hands, at bad-at-games.
Elizabeth has relaunched her comic as a fully Patreon-funded project, “which means it only exists because a bunch of awesome people decided that it’s a project worth paying for.” I’m just going to put her Patreon link right here. In case anyone wants to click on it maybe.

The very popular 3DS Game Card Case is back in stock at Club Nintendo, and it has several new jacket designs, offering separate Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing: New Leaf cover sets! The cases hold up to 18 cartridges, and will set you back 400 Points.
Also on Club Nintendo: new downloadable game prizes! We have Game & Watch: Cement Factory (eShop), Spin Six (DSiWare), F-Zero (Wii U eShop), and 1080° Snowboarding (Wii U eShop).
She even drew the Thief Girl from my favorite dungeon in A Link Between Worlds! Claire makes a lot of neat GIFs on her Tumblr, many game-related, so follow her there.
There’s a lot of great Princess Hilda art out there ⊟
Here are two of my favorites, from Ann Marcellino and Shattered-Earth. This piece is also amazing. I need to return to A Link Between Worlds so I can collect the rest of the Baby Maiamais and try out the Treacherous Tower.
Custom Famicom 3DS XL ⊟
WayForward’s James Montagna put together this rad Famicom-color 3DS XL using, it looks like, a Zelda 3DS XL and a red one. It’s pictured here among his other Famicom-style handhelds and some business card cases.
Bold move, taking apart the sought-after Zelda 3DS XL!
If Link’s Awakening were made today ⊟
It would probably have more colors than green, though! The re-imagined screenshot comes from Jonatan Iversen-Ejve, who illustrated this for Swedish magazine LEVEL (via gamover mx981). I’m not too enamored with the art style in Iversen-Ejve’s version — it seems a bit too Triple Towns-ish to me — but I’d welcome a remake for Link’s Awakening.
If Nintendo was able to transform the second-best Zelda into the wonderful, modern masterpiece that was A Link Between Worlds, just think what the company could do with the series best entry.
"Not What I Expected" by Ayme ⊟
You guys have found the Sand Rod gag with the Geldmen dudes in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, right? It’s gold.
The next Zelda game: Hyrule Warriors for Wii U ⊟
Whattttt? A Zelda crossover with the Warriors franchise? Zelda Musou?! That is nuts, and completely unexpected. Under development at Tecmo Koei, the game is not considered part of the main franchise, if that’s not obvious. Hyrule Warriors (working title) is slated to release this spring in Japan, and some time in 2014 in North America.
