Love Is... not to be found here →

I’m fairly interested in expanded-audience stuff, as I think it brings a lot of new ideas and perspectives (not to mention new people) into the hobby. I’m also tolerant of “shovelware,” because I don’t really have to buy it, and maybe it’ll make somebody happy. But I have limits.

Seriously, whose idea was it to make Wii and DS games based on the comic strip Love Is… , which is, in the words of Homer Simpson, “about two naked eight-year-olds who are married”? I find it hard to believe that anyone would even intentionally focus their eyes on the comic strip, much less cultivate enough interest in it to purchase something. It’s weird to think that there are people who adore something so aggressively dull.

The answer is that it appears to have been ZOO Digital’s idea — just like Jelly Belly: Ballistic Beans, the game about that candy that is pretty okay now and then.
