If the number of guests you’ve managed to bring to the Quester’s Rest inn is approximately zero, you’ll be happy to hear that Nintendo’s planned several events where you might be able to take advantage of Dragon Quest IX’s Canvas/Tag mode and grab some special treasure maps.

Tomorrow (1PM-4PM), select GameStop stores across the country will hold a DQIX event with guided demos and opportunities to play the game’s co-op mode with fellow fans. If you place your copy in Canvas mode, you’ll also be able to grab the “Zoma” treasure map.

Following that up, on August 7th (12PM-4PM), participating Best Buy stores will also host a similar sampling event and give away the “Estark” treasure map.

And if you have one near you, you can head to a Simon Mall location for weekend sampling events (from August 7th to September 19th) and download the “Malroth” map.

If you find a visitor to your inn named Gen and with a profile message that reads, “Bitch, I Look Like Goku” (or some less vulgar version of that note), that’s my character!
