Tiny Cartridge 3DS

Cyber Gadget’s latest Switch controller is a Transformer ⊟

Whether you prefer a symmetrical or asymmetrical layout, or want to change the position of the d-pad for each different game, or if you like those Total eSports Trigger Things, or if you like losing parts of things, the Cyber Gyro Controller Pro has something for you. With its various augments and mods, it is the most cyber of gadgets.

Not that I’m a high spec gamer or anything, nor do I have around 70 dollars to drop on a controller, but with all the features and the ability to record macros, I’m definitely curious about this thing. I’d probably end up fidgeting with all my controller doodads instead of playing games…

Two Animal Crossing crafts you need to know about (so you can buy them for me) ⊟

I didn’t know people were just out there making cute caps for Switch analog sticks, but a) they are and b) they cute. I love every single one of these Animal Crossing designs by MeowchieMart.

In addition, a “Welcome to Animal Crossing” lamp would be the perfect thing for my home, which is not Animal Crossing only in that it currently lacks the signage designating it so. My daughter just saw me writing about this and had to check her allowance for the $54.40 purchase price. (No, not today.) And it’s from a local Austin seller!

These Switch controllers have: ears, my attention ⊟

I’d never heard of Stoga Game until it popped up in my Facebook feed, so good job targeting your ad to me, I guess, because I’m totally sharing it. But these Animal Crossing Switch controllers are too cute to ignore, and at $39.99, if they’re any good at all that’s pretty killer.

All three colorways are great, but if it were me (and it may be at some point) the “Tom Nook” variant would be the way to go. Or, as the URL calls it for some reason, “Tim Cook.”

Minimal “Dash Express” case for Switch ⊟

I like to post about Waterfield’s game accessories because they’re well-designed, nice-looking, dependable, and, uh, they email me. (I don’t want to admit that it helps me find things to post, but of course it does!) I would still be using my CitySlicker case all the time if I ever left the house!

The latest Switch and Switch Lite accessory is the Dash Express, a slim case that comes in ballistic nylon, waxed canvas, or three different colors of “Forza textile,” something I’m sure Eric knows about but not me!

Its distinctive look comes from weaving together two yarn-dyed nylon threads in a unique basketweave that creates a vibrant pattern with undertones.

The case costs $39, and includes an “early bird” bonus of a leather 4-game sleeve.

Important info you need to know: these controllers are cute ⊟

I’ve been off my “periodic checking-in of Japanese accessory companies” game, but last night I was delighted to see two wonderful developments. First is Cyber Gadget’s Gyro Controller Mini, a Switch/Switch Lite controller designed to be portable and/or friendly for smaller hands. It’s also, probably as a result of the miniature focus, danged cute. Those grips are like little Corgi legs or something. It’s on Amazon Japan in both wired and wireless versions.

Second is Gametech’s Mini Arcade Stick SW, a tiny arcade stick on which you can set the Switch or Switch Lite! This is a weirdly specific dream come true: longtime Tiny readers may remember that I asked Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono about a tiny Vita arcade stick of a similar type, and he revealed tentative (and now we know, fruitless) plans with Mad Catz. And now it’s real! And on the Switch! And okay, probably not a great arcade stick.

I’m not yet certain what I would want glowing all the time under my TV – our own Tiny? Froggy chair? – but now that’s something I can, and therefore must, think about. Focus Attack is offering custom etched plexi sheets for PDP’s neat LED Switch accessory.

Focus Attack also offers custom etched plexi and perfectly sized artwork for various arcade sticks, which is one of those things that I, an old person, find amazing about the time we live in.

Mega buttons for Mega Miku’s

The official Hori controller for Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega 39′s (and the identical PS4 version for Future Tone DX) looks really simple, and really appealing in an arcadey way: a “touch slider” on the top and four huge, colorful buttons on the bottom. I thought the old Project Diva controllers were simple!

For the privilege of slapping these big controls, it’ll run you about $350!

This classic Street Fighter 2-themed Switch joystick looks cool as heck

Here it is, our EVO post I guess! Hori announced three Real Arcade Pro V joysticks for Switch, and I just love this one designed to evoke the classic Street Fighter 2 cabinet. The other ones, with their Third Strike artwork, are pretty cool too!

I don’t need a joystick (points to “Ask Me About My Burgeoning Minimalism” pin, attached to “I Spent Twenty Years Trying to Play Fighting Games and All I Got is this Lousy T-Shirt” shirt) but they’re nice! And the very good Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection is a good reason for someone else to have a joystick, as is the variety of Neo Geo classics.

Hori says these will be out in October for $160 each.

Daemon X Machina X big weird Joy-Cons

Of all the games to get custom Hori accessories, I didn’t expect weirdo mech action game Daemon X Machina to make the list. But the results are weirdly desirable, with comfy-looking grips and weird extra buttons on the back that can be user-assigned (and have turbo functionality). The dorkiest detail: the X button, of course.

Like Hori’s other Joy-Con replacements, these bigguns only work in handheld mode, so no locking them together into an ersatz Pro Controller.

Dragon Quest XI would like all of my money

First, the Nintendo Switch Dragon Quest XI S Loto Edition, for Japan. Okay, the Slime Joy-Cons are great, but I can resist–

oh no, the Dragon Quest Slime Controller for Nintendo Switch. It comes with a treasure chest that works as a Switch stand. And then the Slime sits on top of that when not in use. How can I live without this… (checks listing) one hundred dollar video game accessory? You know, I skipped the PS2 and PS4 controllers. I think I’m due.

Thanks for keeping the Neko Nyan accessory line alive, Cyber Gadget ⊟

I like the Cyber Neko Nyan Ring Holder just fine – I’ve seen accessories like this before, adhesive rings for the Joy-Cons that work either as grips or stands, and they seem useful.

But mostly I’m glad Cyber Gadget is keeping the Neko Nyan series of cat paw accessories going, including the weird cat mascot that looks like one of their 3DS cases. Handheld gaming still lives as long as we can get novelty accessories.
