On Switch… and on NES! Strictly Limited Games, how you spoil me (assuming I can get a copy with which to be spoiled).
Not only will the NES game be faithfully reproduced on Switch, but it’ll include the Japanese version, Abarenbo Tengu, in which you control a giant animate tengu mask instead of a giant dead samurai head! “Moreover, this release includes new quality of life additions, such as the Rewind, Quick Save, and Quick Load functions.”
Strictly Limited will offer various collector’s editions, including either European or North American NES cartridges of Zombie Nation, starting October 10 at midnight Central Europe Standard Time. As yet I don’t have information about a digital release.
Fun personal story: after college in like 2004 I worked at a used game shop. Zombie Nation was, at the time, total dollar bin filler. And now… it’s not that. It’s extremely not that. And of course I didn’t pick it up at the time!

Prepare the First RPG Village~The Adventures of Nyanzou&Kumakichi: Escape Game Series~. I love that. I want to prepare the village! But also maybe escape from it? But in case you aren’t convinced, publisher AlignmentSharp offers more details on the game page:
We find ourselves in some RPG World.
The Devil suddenly shows up. People fall into great misery.
But, that’s when one young man makes a stand.
He comes to be known as the Hero. He leaves the First Castle, heading for the First Village nearby.
Leaving that aside for now, the First Village is very busy getting ready to welcome the Hero-sama.
Looks like Nyanzou and Kumakichi, who live in the village, are also going to help out with the preparations.
It’s your standard escape game, on the easy side, and highly recommended for beginners. It comes with autosave, hints, and memo functions.
I’m not sure how something could be so appealingly cute and still begin with “The Devil suddenly shows up.” And as it turns out, I’m an escape game beginner.

At least, you’ve been waiting for Fisti-Fluffs since its Nintendo Direct announcement if you’re my daughter, who I’m pretty sure doesn’t read Tiny Cartridge. Note to self: add Tiny Cartridge to her bookmarks.
“Fisti-Fluffs is an adorable (and yes, ridiculous) physics-based party game where you tussle with other cats and destroy the environments in frenetic, over-the-top battles. Of course, you can play alone, but it’s even better with friends. So get your claws out and prepare for some kitty carnage.”
This thing looks totally hilarious even if I’m not 100% sold on the way their back legs move.

Not even a joke, this title got my attention immediately when I saw it in the weekly downloads press release. I had never considered how much I would want something like this, but: of course! Not to mention the pleasing Simple 2000 “the title just says what the game is” vibe.
Flight simulators are fun sometimes because they’re complicated, but just because it’s difficult in real life doesn’t mean it can’t be made more accessible or simpler in video game form!
I haven’t played Easy Flight Simulator to gauge the quality of the execution, but I cannot fault this concept.

Aside from Claymates, which was developed and published by American companies (Visual Concepts and Interplay, respectively) the latest batch of SNES games available to Switch Online members are of British origin.
Bombuzal is an isometric puzzle game originally designed for Amiga, Atari ST, and Commodore 64, and it has what I think of as a “This was an Amiga game” look about it.
Jelly Boy, meanwhile, is a platforming game about a transforming blob guy who punches from his stomach in a fairly off-putting way. It was exclusive to Europe until now! All three of these will be available July 28. I’ve never played any of them, which is exciting for me!

Mushihimesama, a vertical shooter from the legends at CAVE, was surprise-dropped on eShop today following an announcement in the Japanese Nintendo Direct showcase.
I know there was a lot of other news, what with it being E3 and all, but I don’t ever want to take for granted the easy and immediate access to all kinds of obscure, retro, previously inaccessible Japanese games that the Switch offers. Like this!
Take control of the princess Reco as she soars through five beautifully-detailed stages atop her giant beetle steed, Kiniro. Blast Koju (giant insect) enemies with a variety of different shots, ranging from the standard S-Power shot to the destructive spread of the W-Power shot. Strafe and graze to victory in the original arcade version or experience reimagined and remixed Arrange and v1.5 modes featuring different music, mechanics, and bullet spreads.

Launching the same day as… the Switch port of Miitopia? Huh!
This blue Switch Lite is not a light blue Switch Lite. That already exists. This Switch Lite is darker blue. Hopefully you’ll be able to order it online or just point at it in the store.

Tomorrow, April 7, Nintendo will launch this Nintendo Switch Online-exclusive game, which is Tetris 99/Mario 35/etc. but Pac-Man. It looks fun? Because Pac-Man is fun?
But, uh, yikes. Coming so soon after the removal of Super Mario 35, I feel like this little game is going to take a lot of flak from people Mad Online. “That Mario game I didn’t like that much died for this???”
Anyway, this is also an anniversary game! Much like myself, Pac-Man is celebrating his 40th year of life.

Heyyyyy I’m sure you’re paying attention to many, many other Switch announcements right now, but I went to the eShop to get the demos for all that stuff and I saw this Neo Geo Pocket Color classic on the front page, and: pretty cool. I must admit that seeing one handheld system on the screen of another is very My Brand as well.
Important note on the product page: “*Modes other than VS that require DC/KOF LINK are not enabled.” So I guess don’t try to connect your Switch to your Dreamcast, and if you do, don’t expect too much.

The jacket… is a lot better than a jacket based on a fake airline populated by cute extinct birds should be. The shirt is a clean graphic on a nice color. The hat… is also there. Why is the Nintendo Store’s Dodo Airlines collection so good?

Finally, after SO many years, the Animal Crossing/Sanrio collab Amiibo cards will see an official US release, on March 26 exclusively at Target. The package contains all 6 cards, originally released in Japan for New Leaf (and as far as I know, still compatible!) and now sold as a New Horizons accessory.
These things go for impossibly high prices on auction sites, but at Target, six dollars.

I would love to know what came first: the concept of a jousting unicyclist or the title “Balancelot.” Because together, they are beyond perfect.
Not to mention, the weird wheel animal designs, the medieval cut-paper look, the overly dramatic music, and just everything else make Balancelot worth my attention. But it’s the name that got that attention. There are a lot of titles in Nintendo’s weekly download email.
